PRISTINA Albanian President Bujar Nishani has asked his Greek counterpart Karolos Papoulias "to recognize Kosovo." This is according to an article in Tuesday's edition of the Pristina-based Albanian language daily Epoka e Re. Albania "wants Greece to recognize Kosovo" Kosovo's ethnic Albanians in early 2008 unilaterally declared independence. Greece is one of five EU member countries that have not recognized the proclamation. Nishani also asked for the "the Greek law on war with Albania" to be abolished, along with other legislation that is "contrary to the agreement on friendship between the two countries," the Belgrade-based daily Blic is quoting the article.
