Serbia's state owned telecommunications company, Telekom Srbija, has had "record profits" this year despite the economic crisis, it was announced. The company said it made a profit of RSD 15bn (some EUR 165mn) in the Serbian market. "Telekom to post record profit" Executive Director Branko Radujko stated that these were "the company's best results so far". "This despite the fact that this year's increase of income is somewhat smaller than in the previous years,” Radujko stressed, pointing out that the business income in 2009 was up seven percent, whereas in previous years they grew "by several times bigger rates". Although the final results on Telekom's business in 2009 will be announced at the end of February, it is already certain that this company will end this year successfully, despite all the challenges imposed by the global economic and financial crisis, Radujko said in an interview for the Belgrade-based magazine Ekonomist.
