Washington website The Hill reports that the interview was broadcast on American television in prime time.In it, Trump talked about last year's victory in the presidential elections, the natural disasters that hit North Carolina and California, but about how the now former head of the White House, Joe Biden, used his last hours in power to issue preventive pardons, including those to members of his families.Preemptive pardons will prevent potential prosecution of those individuals during Trump's second term.Trump told Hannity that he himself was given the option to issue a preemptive pardon for himself in 2021 when he was leaving the White House, but declined to do so because he was convinced he had done nothing wrong despite public efforts to overturn his election loss to Biden. Tanjug/AP Photo/Evan VucciA returnee to the White House suggested that Biden was wrong not to take advantage of the opportunity to grant himself a preemptive pardon near the end of his term, which ended on Monday at noon US time."The guy (Biden) was going around giving everybody pardons. And you know it's interesting, and maybe it's sad, that he didn't pardon himself. And when you look at it, it all had to do with him," Trump said.Later during the interview, he assessed that Biden "received very bad advice"."Joe Biden has very bad advisers. Someone advised Joe Biden to pardon everyone but himself," Trump said.During Biden's tenure, several criminal proceedings were conducted against Trump, in some of which he was found guilty, and in August 2023 he even had to appear at the Atlanta jail and officially turn himself in as a defendant. Then he was immediately released, because previously the judge decided that with a bail of 200,000 dollars, Trump can remain free until the trial.Trump told Hannity that he would leave it up to Congress, where his Republicans hold majorities in both the House and Senate, to decide whether to investigate Biden's decision to issue preemptive pardons to family members and officials who have criticized Trump and led an investigation into his supporters' break-in at the Capitol.
