Vučić thanked Giaufret for the EC report, stating that he also thanked Giaufret and the EU for the preparation of the report, which amendments are mostly correct, stating Brussels' request that the foreign policy be adapted to the EU's policy, and this primarily refers to the Russian sanctions."We have to speak in a more objective way about the EU because often, and when we get angry about anything, the EU is always to blame," said Vučić and stated that Serbia is on the European path."We set ourselves the goal of being able to fulfill all these criteria by 2027, I won't promise that we will enter EU, I can't, but I can say that we will fulfill all of this," he said.He also underlined that from the EC report on Serbia there are many things that we should have fixed, but we didn't, which he doesn't understand."The EU is pointing that out to us, but we haven't done it, and I will encourage the Government of Serbia to do it", said the President of Serbia. As he said, he is particularly interested in developments in the field of education and issues of dual education."We have to educate people for jobs of the future, and it is very important to see that our results are below average, even though we are the best in the region," Vučić pointed out.     View this post on Instagram           A post shared by Aleksandar Vučić (@buducnostsrbijeav) He also stated that the green agenda should be included in education. There are", he continued, numerous resolutions that we have not implemented for reasons unknown to him. "We have a tough job ahead of us. Serbia has the best capacities in the Western Balkans, and I would dare to say some from the EU as well. But we are not members of the 'club', if you are, you don't have to fulfill everything. We have, but it is not particularly emphasized here when it comes to Kosovo and Metohija, dialogue is the only solution and that is the most important thing for the future", emphasized Vučić at the end."There remains a question about foreign policy measures - there are differences, but we will see how things will unfold", the president continued, thanking the EC, Ursula von der Leyen for visiting Belgrade as well as Giaufret.Giaufret, who was the first to address the media, said that Serbia has a goal, which is to join the EU, stressing that the pace of work on this issue should be increased and a message should be sent about Serbia's strategic goal."Accession negotiations are again at the top of the agenda. The new commission will be fully committed to enlargement and this is another sign of directing new energy towards enlargement. Serbia has confirmed that membership is its strategic goal and accordingly we believe it is important to communicate in the right way enlargement process," said the head of the EU delegation.Speaking about the Annual Report for Serbia, he said that Serbia's progress on the road to the EU has slowed down and that now is the right time to correct it. In terms of economic progress, continued Giaufret, Serbia has made good achievements, which the EU welcomes, but Serbia needs to increase progress in justice, fundamental rights, and progress in those areas will affect general progress. There is also progress in chapter 22, i.e. strategy in the fight against corruption, and the EU expects all adopted laws to be implemented, such as the harmonization of the law on REM.When it comes to foreign policy and security, the EU expects Serbia to align itself with EU policy, Giaufret said, but he also praised Serbia for its humanitarian aid to Ukraine.Let us remind you that today, Giaufret handed over the Annual Report of the European Commission on Serbia for the year 2024 to the President of Serbia.
