Through its branch in Greece, Carrefour is planning a major expansion in the Balkans.At the beginning of the year, the first supermarkets were opened in Bulgaria, and soon the business is expected to expand to the Serbian market.As the Retail Serbia portal learns, Retail and More from Greece, the exclusive partner of Carrefour, has established its branch in Serbia.After signing the contract with the French group, the Greek company was looking for a partner in Serbia, but since that did not happen, negotiations began on the acquisition of the well-known chain.Negotiations are in the final stage and the French chain could almost certainly appear in Serbia during the next year.Unofficially, the group is currently negotiating a possible acquisition in Bulgaria as well.According to an earlier agreement, Retail and More, in cooperation with a partner, plans to rebrand Parkmart and ALDO into Carrefour stores in Bulgaria, while further expansion and possible acquisitions are expected in the home market.Let's remind, Retail and More A.E. is part of the Greek AVE group. The group owns all the rights of the French company Carrefour for the markets of Greece, Cyprus, Serbia, Bulgaria, North Macedonia, Albania and Montenegro.
