Trump began his speech with a minute of silence for the victims of this plane crash.

As he said, this was a dark night for America, a dark night for history.

He confirmed that there were no survivors in the accident.

"A massive search and rescue operation is underway. Unfortunately, there are no survivors," he said.

In his address, Trump said that everyone has questions and that they are waiting for answers.

As he said, the White House has a strong opinion about what led to the plane crash.

"Although we don't yet know the exact cause of the accident, we have some very strong opinions and ideas, and I think we will share them soon. I have witnessed similar incidents over the years," Trump said.

He added that he believes they have "pretty good assumptions" and that the cause of the tragedy will be thoroughly investigated to ensure that nothing like this happens again.

"We will find out how this accident happened and make sure it never happens again," he pointed out.

Trump criticized the systems of former presidents Joe Biden and Barack Obama.

"I changed the standards introduced by Barack Obama, but with the arrival of Joe Biden, everything changed again. I put security first, while they put politics first. Their politics are pretty terrible," the president said.

He recalled that upon coming to power, he signed a decree that restored the highest standards in the field of air transport.

"I will restore people's faith in air travel," Trump said firmly.

Speaking about the accident itself, Trump said that the passenger plane was doing everything as it should and that it was on the right path.

"For some reason the helicopter was at the same altitude and flying at a very bad angle. The helicopter had the option to stop, go up or descend, they did the opposite of what they were told. The helicopter made a slight turn at the very end, but by then it was too late," Trump said.

Trump repeated that this accident should never have happened.

"The helicopter was in the wrong place at the wrong time," he pointed out.

Let's recall that the accident occurred last night when the plane carrying 64 people collided with a Black Hawk military helicopter carrying three soldiers and crashed into the Potomac River while trying to land at Ronald Reagan Airport near Washington.
