The Ukrainian Defense Intelligence Service reported that a Russian Mi-8 helicopter was destroyed by R-73 SeeDragon missiles during the Black Sea battle near Cape Tarkhankut in occupied Crimea. The operation was carried out by members of the special unit Group 13.

"Another similar Russian helicopter was shot down, but managed to reach its home airport," the Ukrainians added. Explosions rang out across Crimea last night, and the Russians announced that the peninsula had been attacked by drones.

Governor Appointed by a Russian: Beware

"There was a loud noise as the air defense system intercepted and destroyed two drones over the Black Sea," Mikhail Razvozhayev, the Russian-appointed governor of occupied Sevastopol, said overnight. He noted that the situation is under control.

"Given that the drones were shot down over the sea and at a high altitude, I urge everyone to stay calm and stay in safe places," he added.

Meanwhile, Crimean Telegram channels reported that air defense systems launched missiles from the Omaha Bay area towards Cape Fiolent. "There were two missile launches, judging by the flashes," it said. Later, the same channels reported that the main explosions were heard near Komis Bay. Explosions were also recorded in Kozacha bay.

The local Telegram channel Crimean Vetar also reported "loud explosions" in Sevastopol. The explosions are coming from the sea, they wrote.

By the way, back in May of this year, it was announced that the Ukrainians managed to equip the Magura V5 unmanned surface vehicle with R-73 air-to-air missiles.
