"I think Ukraine will lose a third of its territory, but it will be offered security guarantees, for example, the presence of foreign troops," Fico said in an interview with the Brazilian newspaper Folha de Sao Paulo.

As he pointed out, the solution to the conflict in Ukraine can only be a ceasefire and the initiation of the negotiation process.

"Ukraine has allowed itself to be drawn into such a story that cannot end well for the country. It will lose its territory and will not be invited to NATO," stated Fico and added that anyone who is at least a little bit realistic should admit that Russia will never will not withdraw from Crimea, DPR and LNR.

He said that he will never support Ukraine's entry into NATO while he is prime minister. He also believes that Europe should start a normal dialogue with Russia.

"I want the normalization of relations with Russia... We should start a normal dialogue, because what is happening today is not normal. And I guarantee that as soon as the war ends, everything will be as usual. Everyone will go there (to Russia), everyone will want to buy and sell", said the Slovak Prime Minister.

Fico emphasized that the West wanted to use the conflict in Ukraine to weaken Russia, but that the sanctions policy failed.

"Billions of euros and dollars, a lot of humanitarian aid, weapons are pouring into Ukraine. What is the result? The Russian army is conquering more and more territory, sanctions are not working, and Ukraine can no longer conduct negotiations from a strong position," he concluded.
