Footage released: Here they are, one is missing an ear, another an eye, and the third is in a wheelchair
Videos of the four men directly accused by Russia of carrying out the massacre in the concert hall in Moscow were released, which indicate that they were tortured.
They were filmed as they were brought before a Moscow court on Sunday, with three still able to stand on their feet while the fourth was wheeled away in a wheelchair.
All are accused of terrorism. Let us remind you that responsibility for the attack on Crocus City Hall was claimed by the Islamic State, which published disturbing videos from inside the hall on social networks, which show terrorists shooting civilians.
Russian authorities have identified the four attackers as Dalerdzhon Mirzoyev, Saidakrami Murodali Rachabalizoda, Shamsidin Fariduni and Muhammadsobir Fayzov. Masked police brought them into Basmanny district court in the Russian capital. All the men appeared to be injured.
In the video that was published, they can be seen as masked policemen bring them to the Basmani district court in the Russian capital. Apparently, they were beaten and tortured by Russian security forces.
Disturbing footage has been leaked on social media which, according to the BBC, was apparently released by security forces.
They show a brutal interrogation. One video shows one of the attackers being shoved into the mouth of an ear that had been cut off, and the BBC reports that some footage suggests that at least one of the attackers was electrocuted.
The men identified by the court as Mirzoyev and Rachabalizoda had black marks on their faces, and Rachabalizoda had a bandage over his head in the area of his ears. It is speculated that this is the attacker whose ear was cut off by the Russians during interrogation.
Mirzoyev, in addition, had a torn plastic bag wrapped around his neck, which suggests torture by suffocation, but also the desire of the Russian authorities to show the public that they tortured the attackers who carried out the deadly attack on the concert hall.
The face of the man identified as Fariduni was badly swollen and the man named as Fayzov, who was brought to court in a wheelchair wearing a hospital gown, was losing consciousness. He appeared to be missing an eye, according to the Reuters news agency.
The court announcement states that Mirzoyev "fully admitted his guilt", while Rachabalizoda is also stated to have "admitted his guilt".
The men were identified as citizens of Tajikistan, Russian state news agency TASS reported. All four will be held in pre-trial detention until at least May 22, the court added.
