The Russians announced: S-400 and Pancir urgently activated, ATACMS downed

The announcement states that five rockets were shot down by the Pancir missile system.

"At 3:25 a.m. tonight, the enemy hit an object in the Bryansk region with six ballistic missiles. According to confirmed data, operational-tactical missiles manufactured by the American ATACMS were used. As a result of the anti-missile battle, the combat crews of the S-400 air defense system and 'Pancir' shot down five rocket and damaged one," the statement said.

Fragments of the rocket fell on the technical territory of the military facility in the Bryansk region, causing a fire that was immediately extinguished, the Ministry adds.

The statement added that there were no victims in the attack. Earlier, Ukrainian media reported that the Ukrainian army used ATACMS missiles for the first time for strikes deep inside Russian territory.

Let's recall that first some US media reported, as breaking news, that outgoing US President Joseph Biden approved Kyiv's use of their ATACMS missiles to target targets located deep in Russian territory, and the same decision was then made by Great Britain and France, which reported by Reuters and Figaro, with the fact that these permits are denied for the use of their SCALP/Storm shadow missiles.

According to Reuters, Ukraine could launch its first long-range missile attacks on Russian territory in the coming days.

ccording to Bloomberg, Kyiv will be able to use ATACMS missiles to target the Kursk region. However, on Monday, the article containing this information was removed from the French newspaper's website.

Russian President Vladimir Putin said earlier that NATO countries are discussing not only the possibility of using long-range weapons by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, but also direct participation in the conflict in Ukraine.

According to him, Ukraine is already striking Russian territory with drones and other means. He warned that the direct participation of the West in the confrontation in Ukraine will significantly change its essence.

"This will mean that NATO members, the USA and European countries, are at war with Russia. Moscow will make decisions based on the threats that appear before it," Putin concluded.
