Kamala Harris' team made an urgent announcement

He added that she will address the nation tomorrow.

The AP previously reported that the mood at Harris' campaign headquarters turned from euphoric to anxious overnight as election results began to trickle in.

American Politico reports that Harris supporters began leaving her campaign headquarters at Howard University, and one of them, who traveled from Connecticut to attend the eventual celebration, said the evening began with high expectations, but then "everything went downhill."  

Besides her, dozens of supporters also left the headquarters, but they were not in the mood for statements.

Republican candidate Donald Trump watched the election results with a close circle of family and friends at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida.

He headed to his campaign headquarters in West Palm Beach, Florida earlier this evening and is expected to address supporters.
