Israeli forces hit the center of the port of Tyre in Lebanon today, after previously warning residents to leave parts of this port in the south of the country.
This is the first time that the Israeli army targeted the center of Tyre, the fifth largest city in Lebanon, reports Al Jazeera.
Before the escalation of the conflict, about 200,000 people lived in the city, according to a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and now, it is assumed, about 15,000 remain.
Lebanese civilians had earlier left Tyre after the Israeli army issued an evacuation warning, with thousands of displaced people in the city.
