Epic twist; They refused to surrender VIDEO

Amidst reports that Russian forces are beginning to take back territory captured by the Ukrainians in Kursk, the Ukrainian Telegram channel DeepState reported on "heroism worthy of a movie shown by the soldiers of the 36th Naval Brigade," Index.hr reported.

The channel stated that nine members of the brigade took up positions in the Ljubimovka neighborhood to help evacuate their wounded comrades, before they found themselves surrounded by Russian snipers.

"Ukrainian marines refused to surrender and made a difficult decision. Russian soldiers stormed the building where the Ukrainians were, and the Ukrainians then sent a call to their command, asking for artillery to target the building they were in. The building was littered with shells, but all nine Ukrainians managed to get out, surviving the attack that killed a bunch of Russians," DeepState reported.

Using the fire and smoke billowing from the building as cover from Russian snipers, the nine fighters ran out of the building and reached the Ukrainian lines.

"While Hollywood, directors and screenwriters are scratching their heads coming up with the next plot to impress the audience, the Defense Forces of Ukraine are demonstrating it all in real life on the battlefield", reads DeepState's announcement.

"Without a doubt, they are an example for the whole world," they added in a post on X, formerly Twitter.

"We are proud and hope these heroes will be rewarded," the post concluded.
