"It has arrived": A powerful storm rages in Europe VIDEO
Terrifying footage comes from Great Britain, where storm Ashley is raging, causing floods, fires and major property damage.
As experts had previously predicted, storm Ashley "arrived" in northwestern Europe on Sunday, and Ireland, Wales and Scotland will be hit by its strongest impact.
In the rest of the weekend, the cyclone will move its center further west and north of Ireland and will affect the whole of Ireland and Great Britain.
There was a fire in the center of Cork city where, due to a strong storm, electric cables were knocked down, which hit a tree and caused flames. A video of that incident was published on the networks.
"Storm Ashley hit Salthill tonight. This is the Atlantic at its wildest," said Paul O'Brien who shared a video of coastal flooding and high winds.
Weather maps show the astonishing speeds of Storm Ashley as it batters the UK with torrential rain and winds of up to almost 130 kilometers per hour.
For some areas, the Met Office has issued a "danger to life" warning for some people.
Hundreds of flood warnings have also been issued and some roads have been closed.
It warned of material damage to buildings, power outages, and injuries and life-threatening injuries from high-speed winds.
Tens of thousands of homes were without power Sunday night after the storm swept across the island.
Dozens of flights were canceled due to the dangerous conditions, including at Dublin and Belfast airports.
"Storm Ashley will bring strong winds to much of the UK on Sunday before clearing on Monday, with a chance of disruption in parts of Scotland, Northern Ireland, north-west England and West Wales," said Met Office Deputy Chief Meteorologist Tony Wilson.
