Hurricane Kirk in Europe; France affected; There are dead PHOTO/VIDEO
At least one person died when Hurricane Kirk hit the southern part of France, and more than 65,000 households were left without electricity, French television BFM reported this morning.
Three boats were capsized by the wind off the port of Sète, in the south of France, leaving one dead and one in critical condition.
The three most threatened municipalities are Atlantic Pyrenees/Pyrenees-Atlantiques, where 16,000 households are without electricity, Du, where 9,500 households remain without electricity, and Jura, 4,900.
Rail service has been disrupted this morning on several local lines in five regions due to flooding and downed trees from Hurricane Kirk.
The French newspaper Le Figaro reported that last night there was extensive damage to the premises of the National Assembly.
In the area where the MP's offices are located, water entered part of the premises, especially the basement.
