Do you know what "Project Phoenix" is? This chilling prophecy is coming true, right now VIDEO
A simulation created in 2020 that was supposed to prepare Tampa for a devastating Category 5 hurricane turned out to be eerily similar to the path Hurricane Milton is taking as it approaches Florida today.
It is about the "Phoenix Project" in which simulated weather reports and archived videos of other hurricanes are combined, with the aim of pointing out the danger of a possible direct impact of a Category 5 hurricane in the area.
The simulation at the time assumed that the hurricane would hit Tampa, in a worst-case scenario, with winds of 160 mph and gusts of up to 200 mph.
Although Hurricane Phoenix was fictional, the warnings took on prophetic significance this week as a nightmare approaches Tampa in the form of the very real Hurricane Milton, writes the Daily Mail, as quoted by Index.
The Phoenix Project predicted that a Category 5 hurricane in Tampa would cause more than 160 deaths.
At the same time, 30,000 people will disappear, and 300,000 inhabitants will seek shelter.
The simulation predicted the hurricane would cause $200 billion in damage to buildings, and a narrator in the released video says, "The devastation in the region is almost unimaginable."
Scenes used in the simulation show a city center under water, with cars and debris floating around. All the bridges were cut off by the storm surge, which is said to be up to seven meters high in some places.
The simulation also shows medical personnel trapped on the third floor of Tampa General Hospital.
"St. Petersburg is actually an island now," says the announcer as footage shows the wind tearing off the roofs of houses.
The simulation ends by showing the next week, showing the full extent of the destruction left behind by the storm: destroyed beaches, a hospital and most businesses and homes.
