Brutal conflict with the police, chaos ensued PHOTO/VIDEO
At a pro-Palestinian demonstration in Berlin last weekend, violence erupted when protesters began pelting police with rocks and bottles, and police responded with tear gas.
On the occasion of the anniversary of the deadly attack by Hamas in Israel, the police deployed around 2,000 of their members due to the announced protests, reports "Berlinger Morgenpost".
On Saturday, pro-Palestinian demonstrators marched from Tempelhof to the Brandenburg Gate, and on Sunday, demonstrations were held in Kreuzberg and Neukölln, TRT World reports.
Police used tear gas to disperse thousands of protesters in Berlin's Kreuzberg district, and several protesters were detained, including a wheelchair-bound protester who was reportedly forcibly dragged into a police vehicle, according to German media.
Today, on the anniversary of the Hamas attack on Israel, a peace demonstration is planned to take place in Berlin's Potsdamer Platz.
