President of Israel: We are still suffering

Israel's president says the country is "still suffering" a year after the Hamas attack.

"It has been a year since life stopped, the sky darkened, and we all witnessed the monstrous cruelty of the enemy who wanted the destruction of the Jewish people, the state of Israel and Israeli society," Isaac Herzog said before embarking on his three-day commemoration tour.

"We are all still in pain and we are looking for space for national mourning, for tears because of the terrible disaster that has befallen us," he added.

He also promised the "rebuilding" of Israel, saying the job would not be complete until all hostages were freed.
