State Department: 250 Americans left Lebanon

About 250 Americans and their family members traveled from Lebanon on two flights organized by the United States of America, State Department spokesman Matthew Miller said today.

The first plane took off from Beirut yesterday, and the second, with 134 passengers, took off this morning, Miller said, CNN reported.

"We will continue to organize those flights as long as the security situation (in Lebanon) is challenging, as long as there are not enough commercial options available and as long as there is demand," he told a news conference.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is holding the latest in a series of high-level meetings tonight as Israel decides how and when to respond to Iran's ballistic missile attack on Tuesday, Israel's Channel 12 television reported.

The expected "tough response" is being closely coordinated with the Biden administration, the television report said, noting that there is a possibility of a telephone conversation between Netanyahu and US President Joe Biden.

IDF: They were killed, several of them

The Israeli army (IDF) announced today that it killed several Hezbollah commanders in an attack on a military structure in southern Lebanon.

The attack was carried out during a joint operation by the Israeli Air Force and the Golani Brigade, which has been carrying out ground attacks in southern Lebanon for the past day, the statement added, CNN reported.

The IDF also said it destroyed another military structure in a second attack and seized weapons and other equipment during the raids.

The Israeli army today called on residents of more than 20 cities in southern Lebanon to leave their homes immediately, as it continued to attack Hezbollah.
