Ukrainians in hell: "It's fu**ing horrible; We can't pick up the corpses"
A Ukrainian soldier fighting near the northern front line told the London Times that Ukrainian forces are losing so many people that they cannot collect all the corpses.
Describing the fighting as "fu**ing horrible," the soldier, identified by the newspaper as "Lemur," added that Ukrainian forces in the area could not advance.
"We're barely holding the line," he said. According to the newspaper, Lemur is fighting in Kupyansk in Ukraine's Kharkiv region, which the Institute for the Study of War said Russian forces have been making gains in recent days.
It is emphasized that the main factor in the current Russian offensive is the so-called glide bombs, the use of which Russia has increased in the last three months.
These are Soviet-era bombs that have been upgraded with guidance systems and wings that allow long-range strikes..
Since last month, Russia has intensively used them around three hotspots: In Kupyansk, Bakhmut and Robotin, the "Kyiv Post" stated.
They are launched from an airplane and then remotely guided to the target, their radar signal is small and their flight time is short - which makes it difficult for them to be detected and shot down by Ukrainian air defense systems.
The media reports that the slide bombs were crucial in the capture of Avdiivka, as well as that their effect was devastating.
