Checkmate, Nebenzya
Polish Minister of Foreign Affairs, Radosław Sikorski, accused Russia at the UN of doing the same to Ukrainian children as the Nazis, who dragged children from Poland and the Soviet Union to Germany.
German intention was to germanize the children and become blue-eyed, blond-haired Aryan, racially desirable children, he recalled.
"How is what you are doing to the kidnapped Ukrainian children different from what the German Nazis did to your children and ours?", Sikorski addressed the Russian representative Vasily Nebenzya at the UN Security Council session on Ukraine.
Head of Polish diplomacy reminded that the abduction and indoctrination of children of another country, nation or group is, according to international law, a war crime of genocide. "Permanent members of the Security Council should be peacekeepers, not kidnappers of children. This is Russia's shame that will never be forgiven or forgotten," said Sikorski.
Nebenzya left the hall when the Polish minister (responding to the claims of the Russian ambassador that the Ukrainian regime is Nazi) showed a photo of the joint German-Soviet triumphal parade since at the beginning of the Second World War, Germany from September 1 and the USSR from September 17, 1939, those two countries occupied and dismembered Poland.
"Ambassador Nebenzya and Russian propagandists are happy to call the democratically elected government of Ukraine Nazis. In Poland, I live three kilometers from Potulic, where there was a former Nazi selection camp during the Second World War. Thousands of children from Poland and the Soviet Union were imprisoned there from the vicinity of Smolensk and Vitebsk. 800 of them died and thousands were transported to the west to be germanized, Aryan children, racially desirable," said Sikorski.
In response to the Russian ambassador's claim that Russia does not kill civilians in Ukraine, the Polish minister showed a photo of a residential building in Lviv, western Ukraine, that was demolished by a Russian missile.
