Hungary once again stood by Serbia and clearly said "no"
Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade of Hungary, Péter Szijjártó, stated that Budapest will not support the membership of the so-called Kosovo in the Council of Europe.
Responding to Tanjug's question, Szijjártó said that Hungary's position regarding the membership of the so-called Kosovo in CoE has been clear from before that this country wants to have peace, stability and security in the Western Balkans region.
"We are rooting for the success of the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina, but we believe that the fact that Kosovo is applying for membership in international organizations does not contribute to that dialogue. Hungary will not support Kosovo's admission to the Council of Europe," Szijjártó said.
Szijjártó met today in Budapest with the Minister of Economy of Serbia, Adrijana Mesarović, with whom he discussed the improvement of the economic cooperation between Serbia and Hungary.
It was confirmed that the relations between the two countries are the best so far.
