"Everything we do to support Ukraine also means encouraging stabilization in Moldova. It is clear what the biggest concern is: if Ukraine falls, Moldova is the next country in line," Annalena Baerbock said during a visit to Chisinau, where she is attending a meeting of the Moldovan Partnership Platform together with representatives France and Romania, Reuters reports.

Moldovan President Maia Sandu said the country still faces serious challenges and called on partners to increase their support.

"Russia's war against Ukraine, which we condemned on the first day, caused enormous damage to our economy. The uncertainty caused by the war continues to seriously hamper our economic development and will hinder it as long as the war continues," said Maia Sandu.

The Moldovan partnership platform was launched by Germany after the start of the war in Ukraine in 2022.
