The White House announced: We are disturbed
U.S. President Joseph Biden said he was relieved that former U.S. President and Republican candidate Donald Trump was unharmed in a security incident at his golf club in West Palm Beach, Florida, which is being investigated as a possible assassination attempt.
Biden said the suspect was in custody and praised the work of the Secret Service and other law enforcement agencies.
"I am relieved that the former President is unharmed. There is an active investigation into this incident as the police gather more details about what happened. As I have said many times, there is no place in our country for political violence or any other form of violence", Biden pointed out, and the White House announced.
U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris, who is the Democratic presidential candidate and rival to Trump in the elections, said that she is deeply disturbed by the possible assassination attempt on Trump at his estate in Florida.
"As we gather all the facts, I will be clear: I condemn political violence. We must all do our part to ensure that this incident does not lead to further violence," Harris said on the X Network.
The White House previously announced that Biden and Harris were informed of the security incident being investigated as a possible assassination attempt against former U.S. President and Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, and that they will receive the latest information on the progress of the investigation.
A statement from the White House expressed "relief" after being informed that Trump was safe.
The FBI has announced that former President and Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump was the subject of an "apparent assassination attempt" at his golf club in Florida.
Trump was taken to safety by the Secret Service after Secret Service agents opened fire on a man armed with a semi-automatic rifle who pointed the weapon at his golf club in West Palm Beach, Florida, while he was playing golf.
The shooting comes about two months after Thomas Matthew Crooks' failed assassination attempt on Trump at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania on July 13, when Trump suffered an ear injury.
