Fomin: NATO plans to send troops to Ukraine
In order to force Russia to negotiate according to the Kyiv model, NATO plans to send troops to Ukraine, Deputy Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation Alexander Fomin said today.
Speaking at the three-day Xiangshan Security Forum held in Beijing, he said that Kyiv is being provided with comprehensive military assistance and support for attacks on Russian territory, in order to ensure the conditions for forcing Moscow to negotiate according to Ukrainian formulas.
Fomin also said that for the same reason NATO is making plans to send its troops to Ukraine and that it is "a dangerous game that could lead to a direct military conflict between the nuclear powers", reports TASS.
He also noted that in this context "the United States is actively working on changes to its nuclear doctrine", in which, as Moscow believes, "the threshold for the use of nuclear weapons can be significantly reduced".
