Kremlin: The situation is getting worse, it is difficult for the Serbs
It is very difficult for Serbs in both Serbia and Republika Srpska, Moscow and Belgrade have the same view on attempts to trample on the foundations of the Dayton Agreement, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.
"The situation is really getting worse now, and it is very difficult for the Serbs. It is difficult for the Serbs in Serbia, and it is also difficult for the Serbs in the Republika Srpska. The foundations of Dayton are really being trampled on, the interests of the Serbs are being encroached upon. We do not agree with this at all. And in that, we fully support our Serbian friends," Peskov pointed out.
When it comes to the support that Russia provides to Serbia, Peskov said that Moscow's possibilities are very limited, but that Russia's position on the matter is very clearly expressed on the international arena, which, he claims, represents a fairly effective lever of support.
He also said that Russia and Serbia continue to conduct regular contacts at various levels and, among other things, on "the most sensitive issues".
