Urgent meeting scheduled: One topic on the table
Israeli ambassador to the United Nations, Danny Danon, said today that the UN Security Council will hold a meeting tomorrow at his urgent request for an official discussion on the issue of hostages held by the Palestinian militant group Hamas in the Gaza Strip
Danon said in a post on his X account that it will be the first such discussion since Hamas attacked southern Israel on October 7, 2023, reports the Times of Israel.
"It is sad that it took the Security Council 11 months to do this and only after six hostages were killed in cold blood by Hamas terrorists," Danon said, thanking the representatives of the US, Great Britain and France who supported his request for the UN Security Council to meet regarding this issue.
According to the Israeli ambassador to the UN, "Security Council must condemn this Nazi terrorist group and demand the immediate release of all hostages."
