The statement from the director of the "Meta" company was sent to the president of the Legal Chamber of the United States House of Representatives, Jim Jordan, and the Chamber published the statement on its page on the X social network. Zuckerberg writes that in 2021, officials from the Biden administration "repeatedly put pressure" on the corporation, "demanding that certain content related to Covid-19, including humor and satire, be censored, and expressed displeasure when we disagreed."

However, the removal of content was decided by the platform, Zuckerberg claims.

"I believe that the government's pressure was wrong and I regret that we were not more open about it. I am firmly convinced that we should not agree to a compromise regarding our content standards due to pressure from any administration'', writes the director of the Meta company and promises to oppose future similar attempts.

He also admitted that on the platforms under his control, he limited the stories concerning the contents of the laptop of Hunter Biden, the son of the current head of the White House, which could be evidence of his involvement in crimes in the field of drug trafficking and prostitution.

Zuckerberg explained such a decision by the need to verify the facts of the story, before whose confirmation the dissemination of the content was limited.

Now, Zuckerberg claims, "Meta" has changed its policy and procedure, so that a similar situation would not happen again.

U.S. billionaire and businessman Elon Musk commented on the social network X Zuckerberg's confession with the following words:

"Sounds like a violation of the First Amendment (US Constitution)".

The "Wall Street Journal" wrote in July of last year that Facebook was removing posts with assumptions about the artificial origin of the coronavirus due to pressure from the White House, referring to the company's internal correspondence, which was obtained by the Judiciary Chamber of the US House of Representatives.

It was previously reported that US lawmakers had asked the company for data on internal correspondence related to Facebook's content censorship practices.

"Fox News" television announced that, upon request, the company submitted more than 50,000 pages of documents, however, according to sources, none of the submitted documents contained information about internal communications at the "Meta" company, which are of interest to congressmen.
