He held his first rally in Charlotte, North Carolina last night since Biden dropped out of the race for a new presidential term.

Trump said Biden dropped out because he was losing according to all the polls, and claimed that Democratic leaders told him to drop out or else they would invoke the 25th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, which refers to the assumption of office in the event of the president's death, resignation or inability to perform his duties.

He added that the Democrats made a very undemocratic move and forced him out, Voice of America reports.

"Now we have a new victim to defeat: the lying Kamala Harris," Trump said.

He mentioned Harris dozens of times during his nearly 90 minute speech, mispronouncing her name each time, according to ABC News.

Trump described Harris as an "ultraliberal driving force" who should be responsible for the Biden administration's immigration policy.

"As border commissioner, Kamala opened our borders allowing 20 million illegal foreigners to enter our country from around the world," Trump said.

The former US president described the current vice president as the most liberal politician ever elected in American history.

"She is a lunatic of the radical left, who will destroy our country if she is ever elected. We will not allow that," Trump said in North Carolina, one of a handful of states considered key to winning the Nov. 5 presidential election.

He added that he was supposed to be "nice", and that he was told that something happened after the assassination attempt and that he became nice.

"But when you're dealing with people like this, and they're very dangerous people, you can't be nice. So if you don't mind, I'm not going to be nice! Is that OK?" Trump told supporters in Charlotte with a promise to "return to the White House and make America great again."

Trump's rally began two hours before Biden addressed the nation from the White House, his first since dropping out of the re-election race.

In his speech, Biden supported his vice president, Kamala Harris, and pointed out that he is "leaving the baton" to the younger generations because he believes that this is the best way to unite U.S. citizens.
