Viktor Orbán revealed what Putin told him inside the walls of the Kremlin, and he justifies his "mission" with an alleged escalation on the battlefield. He commented on his conversations with Zelensky and Putin for Bild.

"I asked both of them the same question. I asked both heads of state (Zelensky and Putin, op.a.) if there is a chance for them to agree to a temporary truce that would speed up the peace negotiations. Let's start from the ceasefire. Because at the moment everyone is thinking in the other direction, they first want to reach a peace agreement, and only then declare a truce," said Orbán.

"Both the Russians and the Ukrainians answered the same: The truce is in the interests of the enemy because during the truce they will have time to reorganize and prepare for the continuation of the war," added the Hungarian Prime Minister.

As Orbán pointed out for Bild, the talks with the opposing sides in the war clearly showed him that the next two or three months will be more brutal than we think. As he said, the situation at the front will be even worse.

"In the next few months, things will get worse on the front. Russia has more weapons and the Russians are more determined. So the energy of the conflict, the number of dead, the number of victims will be more brutal than in the last seven months, although the period before that was also very brutal", said the Hungarian Prime Minister.

"I don't argue about who is right and who is wrong. Because my goal is peace and a ceasefire," concluded Orbán.
