It boils in France; The elections are over - the chaos has just begun: Some are threatening, others "ashamed"
The second round of parliamentary elections in France brought big surprises. The alliance of left-wing parties won the most seats in the National Assembly, while the extreme right and Marine Le Pen suffered a defeat.
These are the official results (Parliament has 577 seats, 289 needed for a majority):
1. New People's Front (NFP) - 182 mandates
2. Alliance for the Republic (Macron) - 163 mandates
3. National Rally (RN) 143 mandates
Attal announced that he will offer his resignation today
French Prime Minister Gabriel Attal said that he will offer his resignation to President Emmanuel Macron today, after their centrist coalition "Together" took second place in yesterday's second round of parliamentary elections.
He pointed out that he will perform the function of prime minister as long as "duty requires it", reports Reuters.
