Today, voting for 501 parliamentary seats in the Assembly of France, which has a total of 577 MPs, takes place.

Only 76 MPs were elected in the first round on June 30.

Franceinfo: Centrist parties are losing seats in parliament

The centrist coalition "Together" of French President Emmanuel Macron will most likely lose the relative parliamentary majority it had the previous two years, after today's second round of general elections.

"Together", of which Macron's "Revival" party is a part, is expected to win between 150 and 170 seats, as the French center focused on stopping Marine Le Pen's far-right National Rally, Franceinfo reports.

According to the first projections, Revival will have only 95 to 105 seats in the future assembly, compared to 169 before the dissolution.

François Bayrou's Democratic Movement "MoDem", also part of the coalition, which had a group of 50 parliamentarians, will send between 31 and 37 MPs to the Assembly.

At the same time, Horizons, Horizons, Édouard Philippe's party, will have between 24 and 28 elected officials, compared to 31 parliamentarians previously.

Republicans, on the other hand, will send between 57 and 67 elected officials to the parliament, while before the dissolution they had 61 MPs in their group.

French Prime Minister Attal announced that he will resign tomorrow

French Prime Minister Gabriel Attal announced tonight that he will offer his resignation to President Emmanuel Macron tomorrow, after their centrist coalition "Together" took second place in today's elections.

He pointed out that he will perform the function of Prime Minister as long as "duty requires it", reports Reuters.

Attal noted that "extreme parties", including the far-right National Rally (RN) and the left-wing New People's Front coalition, will not be able to form a government after the parliamentary elections.

Shock in France: Macron will not address the nation

French President Emmanuel Macron will not address the French on Sunday after the announcement of the first results of the second round of the parliamentary elections, writes the La Figaro newspaper, citing the Elysée Palace.

"There is no scheduled speech for French President Emmanuel Macron on Sunday," the paper writes. It is noted that currently "the head of state is studying the results of the parliamentary elections as they were announced, by district".

French President Emmanuel Macron will respect the decision of French voters after today's parliamentary elections in which the left-wing New Popular Front won the most votes, his office announced.

The announcement stated that the president is analyzing the projections, and that in accordance with tradition, he will wait to get a full picture of the results before making the necessary decisions, reports Reuters.

According to the first projections after the polls closed in France, the leftist coalition New Popular Front is in first place, which could win between 180 and 215 seats in the parliament.

The centrist coalition led by President Emmanuel Macron could win between 150 and 180 seats.

Marine Le Pen's far-right National Rally coalition is in last place with an expected 120-150 seats, according to an IFOP poll, Reuters reports.
