It is expected that during his stay in Moscow, Orbán will meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin, Havasi told MTI.

Orban's visit to Moscow comes after he paid a surprise visit to Kyiv on July 2, where he met with the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky.

The Hungarian service of Radio Free Europe reported yesterday, citing a source from the Hungarian government, that Orbán will travel to Moscow today to meet with Putin, and after that the President of the European Council, Charles Michel, stated that the rotating presidency of the EU Council does not have a mandate to cooperate with Russia on behalf of the EU.

"The European Council is clear: Russia is the aggressor, Ukraine is the victim. Without Ukraine, there can be no discussion about Ukraine," said Michel on the X platform.
