Drama, Macron is going down
French President Emmanuel Macron is reportedly talking to his aides about the possibility of resigning as he calls elections for the National Assembly, Europe 1 radio station reports.
"The resignation of the president is not a taboo. Yes, all options should be considered. He is ready to sacrifice the end of his presidential mandate," the media quoted a source from the president's entourage.
It is noted that Macron has discussed this scenario with people in his circle in recent weeks. It is not desirable, but it could serve as a "dramatization" before the upcoming elections.
The text claims that Macron could also agree to co-rule with the right-wing National Assembly party if they win the parliamentary elections, in order to "let them fail happily" until the next presidential election in 2027.
Just to recall that after the preliminary results of the elections for the European Parliament in France were published on Sunday, according to which the right-wing National Assembly party is more than twice ahead of the coalition of supporters of Macron, the French leader announced the dissolution of the National Assembly and the holding of extraordinary parliamentary elections in two rounds - on the 30th of June and July 7.
