And now it's official: Macron is "crushed"
Marine Le Pen's far-right French party National Rally won 31.47 percent of the vote in yesterday's European Parliament elections.
The Revival of President Emmanuel Macron, on the other hand, won only 14.56 percent, the French Ministry of the Interior announced after all the votes were counted.
With this, the Le Pen party won 30 mandates in the EP, and the Macron party won 13, Figaro reports.
The Socialist Party also won 13 mandates with 13.8 percent of the vote, while the Unconquered France party won 9.87 percent of the vote, or 9 mandates.
The Republicans won 6 mandates with 7.24 percent of the votes, while the Environmental Party got 5.47 percent and Reconquest 5.46 percent, that is, five mandates each.
Macron announced last night, after announcing the preliminary results for EP MPs, that he was dissolving the French government and announced parliamentary elections for June 30 and July 7.
