Russia: Chinese, you are behaving unreasonably
A major gas pipeline deal between Russia and China is reportedly stalled due to what Moscow sees as Beijing's "unreasonable demands on prices and supply levels".
This was reported by the Financial Times, citing three sources familiar with the matter.
The Power of Siberia 2 pipeline would have transported 50 billion cubic meters of natural gas a year from the Yamal region in northern Russia to China, however the project was reportedly "grounded" after China demanded to pay close to Russia's subsidized domestic prices and only committed to buying a small portion of the planned annual capacity of the gas pipeline, the news agency reported.
During their talks in Beijing, the pipeline agreement was reportedly one of the main demands of Russian President Vladimir Putin to Chinese President Xi Jinping.
