Chaos on the streets: Mass arrest, 50 people behind bars VIDEO
This morning, the police detained about 50 protesters who oppose the policies of the Prime Minister of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, Armenian media reported.
According to reports, the Armenian police started this morning in Yerevan to detain the participants of the civil disobedience actions demanding the resignation of Pashinyan, the Russian agency Interfax reported.
Protesters were also detained in the town of Etchmiadzin, where a group of demonstrators was preparing to welcome the prime minister who is scheduled to visit one of the local schools.
On May 4, Armenian Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan started a procession from the Tavush area in Armenia and announced protests in Yerevan from May 9 against the policy of the Armenian authorities regarding the demarcation with Azerbaijan.
The archbishop was joined by the heads of all dioceses of the Armenian Church who started processions from various parts of Armenia. Earlier at the meeting, the archbishop demanded the resignation of Pashinyan.
