108 students were arrested at a protest in Boston in the American state of Massachusetts, and 93 at a protest at the private University of Southern California in Los Angeles, while 28 students were arrested at Emory University in Atlanta in the American state of Georgia, according to the police, as reported by CNN.

At New York's Columbia University, the epicenter of the demonstrations, students said they would not disperse until the faculty agreed to cut ties with Israeli academic institutions.

Students on other campuses have similar demands, and Palestinians, Arabs, Jews and Muslims are participating in the protests, according to CNN.

Boston police forcefully removed tents set up by Emerson College students Thursday morning, arresting 108 of them, media reported.

In the video, students can be seen shielding themselves with their hands and using umbrellas to resist the police.

Another 93 students were arrested Wednesday night during protests at the University of Southern California, the Los Angeles Police Department said.

Police said one person was arrested on suspicion of assault with a weapon, but did not provide details about the incident.

Students have also been protesting since last Thursday at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, the University of Texas at Austin, the University of Michigan, the University of New Mexico, Berkeley, Yale and Harvard, according to CNN.
