Ready for a major war with Putin: Deploy nuclear weapons
The Polish authorities are ready to deploy American nuclear weapons on their territory, Polish President Andrzej Duda said in an interview with the newspaper "Fakt".
"If our allies decide to deploy nuclear weapons within the framework of 'Nuclear Sharing' also on our territory in order to strengthen the security of NATO's eastern wing, we are ready for it. We are allies in NATO and we have obligations in this matter, which means that we simply implement a common policy," he explained.
According to him, "this issue has been the topic of Polish-American talks for some time".
"I have already spoken about it several times. I have to admit, when I was asked about it, I confirmed our readiness," he added.
Duda claims that Russia is increasingly strengthening the Kaliningrad region from a military point of view.
"Recently, Moscow transferred its nuclear weapons to Belarus," he pointed out.
The "Nuclear Sharing" program allows the United States of America to deploy its nuclear weapons in NATO countries that do not possess them. The US has 100 tactical nuclear missiles in Europe and Turkey. The warheads range from 0.3 to 50 kilotons for the B61-3 and B61-4 bombs and are stored at six bases in Belgium, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands and Turkey.
