Russians, we shot it down VIDEO
Ukrainian Air Force Commander Mykola Oleshchuk said that Ukraine shot down a Russian Tu-22M3 long-range strategic bomber last night. The GRU also released a video of the air defense shooting down Russian aircraft.
"For the first time, the anti-aircraft missile units of the Air Force, in cooperation with the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, destroyed the Tu-22M3 long-range strategic bomber," Oleshchuk said, as reported by the Unian agency.
Then Ukraine's military intelligence service GUR released footage it claimed showed Ukrainian forces shooting down a Russian military bomber.
In the video published on the X social network, it is stated that members of the Ukrainian armed forces, i.e. air defense, are seen, although their faces are blurred, while they are shooting down a Russian plane. GUR announced that Ukraine hit the plane at a distance of 300 km, using the same undisclosed means that downed the A-50 airborne radar and early warning plane earlier this year.
Earlier, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced that a military plane, a Tu-22M3 bomber, crashed in the Krasnogvardeysk district, in the southern Russian region of Stavropol.
As stated, the plane crashed due to a technical fault, and the pilots ejected.
"The plane crashed in the Krasnogvardeysky district. According to preliminary reports, no damage was done to the ground, and the pilots ejected," Stavropol governor Vladimir Vladimirov said on Telegram.
