Chaos in Russia; It's dangerous: "Evacuate"
The water level of the Tobol River near the Russian city of Kurgan reached a dangerous level today, after the water level rose by 15 centimeters in the past few hours, reaching 865 centimeters, the regional government announced.
The government called on residents of the flooded areas of Kurgan and Ketovsk districts to evacuate immediately, reports RIA Novosti.
According to the city administration, the water is still entering the Tobola district and approaching the local school, and evacuation is necessary.
The Regional State Service for Emergency Situations of Russia announced that the rise of water in the Tobol River near Kurgan will continue in the coming days, it is expected to rise up to one meter, including in the municipal district of Ketovsky.
The Ural Hydrometeorological Center predicted the continuation of the water level rise near Kurgan until Thursday, and the maximum expected value is 1,070 centimeters, according to the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
A regional state of emergency is in effect in the Kurgan region, and 62 settlements, 4,300 houses, 5,550 households and 600 cottages are at risk of flooding.
More than 13,000 people were evacuated, and 16 temporary accommodation centers were opened, writes RIA Novosti.
