The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said warning level 3 was still in effect for the area around Mount Kanlaon, Reuters reports.

Level 3, on a scale of 5, means there is an increased risk of lava flows and a risk of a dangerous eruption within the next few weeks.

Mount Kanlaon, an active volcano that stretches between the provinces of Negros Occidental and Negros Oriental in the central part of the Philippines, is one of about twenty active volcanoes in that country.
