The deal was struck – peace

The United States and Russia are said to have reached an agreement to ensure safe navigation, eliminate the use of force and prevent the use of merchant ships for military purposes in the Black Sea.

When it comes to Ukraine, the US has announced that it will remain committed to the return of children forcibly displaced from Ukraine.

The US will help restore Russia's access to world markets for agricultural and fertilizer exports, reduce marine insurance costs, and improve access to ports and payment systems for such transactions.

The US and Russia have agreed to develop measures to implement President Trump's and President Putin's agreement to ban attacks on energy facilities in Russia and Ukraine.

The US and Russia welcome the good offices of third countries to support the implementation of the energy and maritime agreements.

The US and Russia will continue to work to achieve lasting and sustainable peace. The US reiterated the imperative of President Donald J. Trump that the killing on both sides in the conflict between Russia and Ukraine must stop, as a necessary step towards a permanent peace solution.

To that end, the US will continue to mediate negotiations between the two sides to achieve a peaceful resolution, consistent with the agreements reached in Riyadh.

The US is grateful to Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for his leadership and hospitality in making these important talks possible again in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
