Trump stops Putin
US President Donald Trump said that he knows Russian President Vladimir Putin "very well" and that he has a rational relationship with him, and that his goal is for people in the war in Ukraine to "stop being killed".

"I don't think anyone in the world is going to stop him (Putin), except me, and I think I'll be able to stop him. We had some very rational discussions, and I just want to see people stop being killed. They're losing 2,500 young children a week, and they're Russians and Ukrainians," Trump said in an interview with the OutKick portal that he gave on the presidential plane.
The US president added that he "knows Putin very well", and expressed his satisfaction with the fact that relations between the two sides did not deteriorate due to accusations from 2016 that Russia allegedly interfered in the presidential elections in the United States of America.
Trump reminded that Putin did not invade Ukraine while he was the US president in his first term.
"He didn't invade any country while I was president," said Trump, who added that Russian military action in Georgia and Crimea took place during the terms of office of US Presidents George Bush and Barack Obama, and that the invasion of Ukraine took place while President Joe Biden was in power.
