The Ukrainian army announced during the night that it had shot down 74 of the 117 drones launched by Russia.
Another 38 drones did not reach their targets, the military added in a statement.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that the Russian operation to push Ukrainian forces out of the Kursk region has entered its final phase.
The Ukrainian army retreats to other positions in the Russian Kursk region
Ukrainian army commander Oleksandr Syrskyi said his forces were withdrawing to other positions in Russia's Kursk region, where Russian forces claim to have quickly retaken parts of the area in recent days.
"In the most difficult situation, my priority was and remains to save the lives of Ukrainian soldiers. To this end, units of the defense forces, if necessary, go to more favorable positions," he said on Facebook, using a phrase usually used by both the Russian and Ukrainian sides to indicate withdrawal.
Russian President Vladimir Putin has ordered his army to "completely liberate" Russia's Kursk region, where his forces have been advancing rapidly against Ukrainian forces in recent days, local television reported.
It is Putin's first visit to the Kursk region since Ukrainian forces launched a surprise offensive there in August 2024.
Ukrainian forces have occupied several hundred square kilometers of the area, while Russian forces have been trying to drive them out of the area in recent months.
Russia captured 430 Ukrainian soldiers in the Kursk region
Russian Army Chief of Staff Valery Gerasimov told President Vladimir Putin today that his forces captured 430 Ukrainian soldiers during a recent advance in Russia's Kursk border region.
"The Ukrainian army, seeing that it is useless to continue to offer resistance, began to actively surrender and 430 fighters were captured," Gerasimov said, Russian television reported.
Putin, for his part, suggested that the prisoners be "treated as terrorists".
77 drones destroyed
Russian air defense systems destroyed 77 Ukrainian drones over Russian territory during the night, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced.
In the period between 8:00 p.m. on March 12 and this morning at 6:36 a.m. Moscow time, air defense systems intercepted and destroyed 77 Ukrainian drones: 30 drones over the territory of Bryansk Oblast, 25 over Kalushka Region, six over Kursk Region, six over Voronezh Region, five over Rostov Region and five over Belgorod Region, according to the statement.
