The plane on which US Secretary of State Marco Rubio was supposed to arrive in Munich had to return to Washington due to mechanical problems.

As reported by the Reuters agency, Rubio will have to travel to Germany, and then to the Middle East on another plane, the spokesperson of the State Department announced today.

Rubio was scheduled to attend the 61st Munich Security Conference (MSC), which begins today and runs through February 16 in the Bavarian capital.

At the Bayerischer Hof Hotel in Munich, world leaders, policymakers and experts will gather to discuss pressing security issues, such as Russia's ongoing war against Ukraine, the Gaza crisis and the changing dynamics of international alliances.
