It's confirmed: I had a long talk with Putin; Invitation to Trump to visit Moscow
US President Donald Trump said that he had a long phone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin today.

US President Donald Trump confirmed that he spoke with Russian leader Vladimir Putin today, stressing that the conversation was "long".
He revealed that they discussed Ukraine, the Middle East, energy issues and other topics.
"I just had a lengthy and highly productive phone call with President Vladimir Putin of Russia. We discussed Ukraine, the Middle East, Energy, Artificial Intelligence, the power of the Dollar, and various other subjects.," Trump wrote on the "Truth Social" social network.
"We both reflected on the Great History of our Nations, and the fact that we fought so successfully together in World War II, remembering, that Russia lost tens of millions of people, and we, likewise, lost so many! We each talked about the strengths of our respective Nations, and the great benefit that we will someday have in working together. But first, as we both agreed, we want to stop the millions of deaths taking place in the War with Russia/Ukraine. President Putin even used my very strong Campaign motto of, “COMMON SENSE.”
"I agreed with Putin that it is necessary to end the conflict in Ukraine," Trump said.
"We agreed to work together, very closely, including visiting each other’s Nations. We have also agreed to have our respective teams start negotiations immediately, and we will begin by calling President Zelensky, of Ukraine, to inform him of the conversation, something which I will be doing right now", Trump said.
Trump said he has asked Secretary of State Marco Rubio, CIA Director John Ratcliffe, National Security Adviser Michael Waltz, and Ambassador and Special Envoy Steve Witkoff, to lead these talks which he says he firmly believes will be successful.
"Millions of people have died in a War that would not have happened if I were President, but it did happen, so it must end. No more lives should be lost! I want to thank President Putin for his time and effort with respect to this call, and for the release, yesterday, of Marc Fogel, a wonderful man that I personally greeted last night at the White House. I believe this effort will lead to a successful conclusion, hopefully soon!", Trump concluded.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov confirmed that the telephone conversation between Putin and Trump ended recently, and that it lasted almost an hour and a half. They discussed the situation in Ukraine, the Middle East and Iran's nuclear program.
"They also discussed the resolution of the situation in Ukraine. President Trump advocated that the hostilities end as soon as possible and that the problem be resolved peacefully," Peskov specified.
Putin invited Trump to Moscow. They agreed to continue holding personal talks and organize a meeting, Peskov specified.
Earlier, the "New York Post" reported that Trump announced that he spoke by phone with Russian President Vladimir Putin about resolving the conflict in Ukraine.
However, then Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told the Russian news agency TASS that he could not "confirm or deny" the announcements about the conversation between Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump.
Trump earlier thanked the Russian president for the release of the American Mark Fogel, who was convicted in Russia of smuggling and possession of narcotics, and has now been returned to the United States of America.
