Andy Murray is Novak Djokovic's new coach!

Novak started working with his longtime rival and friend, Andy Murray, who joined his team as a coach.

The agreement was reached on the eve of making a strategy for the next season, with a focus primarily on the preparatory period, and then on the Australian Open, where Novak will try to win his 11th singles title.

So far, he has won the trophy in Melbourne in 2008, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2015, 2016, 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2023.

"I'm excited to have one of my biggest rivals on the same side of the grid with me, this time as my coach. I'm looking forward to starting the season alongside Andy and having him by my side right here in Melbourne, where we've shared so many great moments during his career," Djokovic pointed out.

After the first Grand Slam of the season, and depending on Novak's competition schedule, Djokovic and Murray will agree on a possible extension of cooperation during the year.

"I will be joining Novak's team during the preparation period, helping him get as ready as possible for the Australian Open. I am very excited about it and look forward to being on the same side of the net for a change, and I am grateful for the opportunity to help him in goals in the coming year," said Murray, a three-time Grand Slam champion, five-time Australian Open finalist, former world number one on the ATP Tour and Olympic gold medalist.
