Forcan: "Nobody is thinking about bankruptcy in Partizan" VIDEO
Milka Forcan, a new member of the board of FC Partizan, spoke about the situation in that club as a guest in the morning program on TV Prva.
To start the conversation, she revealed how she responded to the invitation of the new president, Rasim Ljajić.
"I was abroad when I spoke with Mr. Ljajić. When asked what the verdict was, he told me that it was a difficult situation, that he had been given a mandate to form a team and that a person with my experience would mean a lot to him. When I heard that there are Pedja Mijatović and Danko Lazović, of course, I responded, but I have to admit that in addition to the rational part, there were also calls for some position, so I didn't decide to accept anything. Here, the emotional part had an effect because I come from a family that supports Partizan, so that also made a difference," said Forcan, whose father, Jovan Mileusnić, was also in the administration of the Black and Whites:
"In the brightest days. We are connected to Partizan as a family. It is a daily topic for us. It was not something new and unknown to me. I was very young when I received a soccer ball signed by Dragan Mance and that generation. It had a special place in our "stand."
How difficult is it for a woman to assert herself in a predominantly male sphere such as Serbian football.
"An additional complicating factor is women in football. Prejudices need to be broken. Someone has to do that, to try and try. There are numerous obstacles. The bottom line is who your interlocutor is. Those who are educated and brought up will not have a problem with that. Of course, there are others. Evil and conflicting voices are appearing even now from that circle of the most primitive representatives of the male world who follow events in sports," continues Forcan.
What was it like watching from the side of black and white during the previous years?
"Of course, it was difficult for me to observe all that. The situation in Partizan is partly the result of the situation in Serbian football, and also because of the way the club was managed. It may be too optimistic to say, but it is better for the situation in Serbian football that the situation in Partizan is good. Someone will say that without a strong Partizan there is no strong Red Star. Not to mention that Partizan has an army of fans, between one and two million fans for Partizan", emphasizes Forcan, who claims that there were no talks with the former administration:
"We did not have discussions with the previous administration. It is not realistic to expect any significant explanation. Almost every day we receive information to give clarification to people on how to oppose the new administration of Partizan. How to avoid compromises during mutual terminations. They make our otherwise difficult job even more difficult."
Big changes mean a large number of layoffs.
"It is the most sensitive part of the job. I didn't even know that this job was waiting for us. We have to deal with it. At the initial stage, we asked for a report on the work that the employees are doing. We went through a more difficult and complex way to get the right impression. There are people who act like employees, but they don't come to work. It's a complex situation."
"No one is thinking about bankruptcy. We are thinking about how to present the problems. The first big challenge is UEFA's monitor and everything we need to do for it. In parallel with that, we are working on all other tracks and trying to bring in sponsors and reduce costs. That is no longer an option and it won't happen."
She was also asked whose task it was to deliver the bad news.
"It is the joint task of all of us in the Working Group. So that the managers of certain segments would not make that decision, we went deeper into who does what. We were not guided by who earns how much. They are in the sports part, those contracts are internationally protected by UEFA. It's almost impossible to tear them apart. In the second segment, we were not guided only by how much salary, but who does what job."
The new administration officially started its mandate with a match against Čukarički.
"The first game was a really great moment. After a long break, the stadium in Humska is full again. The energy that helps you fight this situation. We will work on the sports part. In the coming period, I believe that the fans will persevere and show their love as until now," explains Forcan.
She also announced some novelties.
"In the previous period, we formed a so-called media team with new people. In addition to something that existed until now and was on a relatively modest scale, we have a plan for how the new YouTube channel will look like. We have also prepared a new studio. There will be some new forms. Look back on some brighter years to the podcast, exclusively to reveal "We were not born yesterday". Additionally to help us raise the image of the club."
Another novelty is children's tickets.
"It is a novelty that we have introduced. It can be purchased at a 50 percent lower price than a regular ticket. Our goal is to bring back families and real fans, who stopped coming because of the whole situation. In addition to that, there is also a children's ticket. Partizan also has the so-called children's forum. It exists from the period when we faced with penalties, and when it was initiated that at least the children come to the matches. In addition to the children's and the season's tickets, we are introducing membership fees. Partizan is the only club that does not have membership cards. We have decided to introduce them, probably to avoid influence on the club's management," said Forcan.
What is the difference between managing a club and a company?
"Everything is so fast-paced here. In addition to doing some rehabilitation, the games have to be played, the result has to be achieved. In parallel, everything happens on two tracks. In that sense, everything is more complex. A team of people who join us as external collaborators are really ready to help us. A few days ago, two men came and they didn't have an appointment, I asked what the topic was and they said they wanted to donate money. It's Serbian gentleman who lives in Zurich, he has his own company He wanted to donate 20,000 euros. He didn't want to advertise his company, he just said that he believes that something good is happening. It's a situation that inspires you to fight for the right thing," concluded Forcan.
