Although just a few days ago it seemed that it would be difficult to fight for a place among the top eight in the ATP race, now the situation is different.
Finals contenders Casper Ruud and Tommy Paul failed this week, boosting Novak's chances of making it to Turin.
Ruud lost in the first round of the tournament in Basel to Roberto Bautista Agut with a score of 2:1, while Paul was eliminated in the first round of the tournament in Vienna, where he lost to Brandon Nakashima with a score of 2:0.
These results significantly reduced their chances of making it to the final Masters, especially for Paul, who now needs a real miracle to stay in the running.
Although Djokovic does not currently show much interest in participating in Turin, even if he makes it, the fact is that he is very close to the final tournament.
He is currently in sixth place in the ATP race with 3,910 points, while Ruud holds the seventh position with 3,845 points, just behind the Serbian tennis player.
